Inside the research
Booking platforms and individual hotels
Booking.com was named or cited in 19 of 64 answers. Tripadvisor and Reddit appeared in 12 each. Twenty answers named at least one specific hotel, with 26 distinct hotels across the sample. The results describe this collection of questions, not the overall share of AI travel recommendations.
Specific needs create different visibility patterns
Named hotels often matched a need such as pets, accessibility, a celebration or a quiet stay. Comparison and checking questions named companies in all 14 sampled answers, while only one of six before-arrival answers did so. Small counts make these exploratory patterns rather than stable rates.
Turn observations into testable questions
Review whether the property publishes current, checkable facts about room variants, access, arrival policies and direct-booking conditions. Repeat prompts before calling a gap persistent. A cited source, a brand mention and a genuine recommendation should remain separate observations.
